Cut-To-Fit wires...

I can get some pretty lengthy Accell Wires from my local Autozone cheaper than I can replace the OEM wires. I was going to perform a tuneup soon and I know I'm not going to feel any real difference with better wires over stock wires besides regained HP.

My question is, Would it be relatively simple to pull a stock wire match and cut to fit an Accell Wire? Will an Accell wire package contain the correct boots? Also how are Accell wires as far as reliability is concerned?

Just to make your life a little easier, once you pull 1 wire off and match it, you can make 7 more just like it . The LS1 (and all Gen-III / IV engines) use 8 identical plug wires! The actual wire itself is only ~5" or ~6" long! (not like the ~2' of wire that old SBC's required ).

It'll come to around $65 with shipping unless my local Summit Racing store carries them. I can get Accell's for alittle less than half that price...

Will I require any special tools?

Taylor Spiro Pros are good and they're really reasonable from Thunder Racing:

Cutting plug wires to length is simple, but which Accel wire are you talking about though? They aren't all created equal.

The $30 Accel cheapos are just that. Definately go with the Taylors over them.

I've used nothing but the MSD wires on my LS1s. (besides the GTO. The wires were 15,000 miles old when I sold it )
