This is Crazy

Ok I bought a 98 Z thinking I was getting a regular Z28 turns out the guy I bought it from put a new engine into it supposedly a 2000 vette engine well when pulled up next to my friends 98 Z they look the same

my problem is what parts do I buy for it ,is it a 98 camaro engine, a 2000 camaro engine, or a 2000 vette engine I have the receipt all it says is LS1 here is my question is there any way to tell what engine it is by just looking at it

I'm confused as hell

They are the same. The only difference is that 00 engines have smaller injectors and a slightly smaller cam profile than a 98.

00 cold air kit. Why? The A.I.R pump intake tube on the 00+ actually feeds from the lid/intake area, where on the 98-99 it doesn't. The 00+ kit comes with a small conical filter for the A.I.R hose since the cold-air lid no longer has a provision for the tube.

It's a small difference, as there are more. I thought you meant differences as in major mechanical ones

It's same engine, so basically he replaced the engine. Mods for a Camaro LS1 will fit that motor
