Cost of LQ9 Stroker

What would be a good price for a complete LQ9 stroker? I want a 402. Im going to sell my bike and build this engine and then buy a suitable rolling body to accept it. How much money am I looking at? I figured 5 grand would suffice if i did the labor my self other than machining. I will also need to rebuild a salvage yard t56. What are yalls thoughts? I should add that there is a gm dealership in my family that can get gm parts at dealer cost.... If anyone needs the hook up, let me know. Also if just getting a high mileage
ls1 and doing heads and cam would net me the same hp, let me know.

check out the vendor links at the top of the page. Many of them sell engines and stroker kits.

I'd say that $5,000 in parts is on the lower side. You can really spend anywhere from $6000-10000 depending on what parts you use.

Put it this way:

FAST 90/90 = $1100-1200
1-7/8" Longtube Headers = $1000
Heads = $1000-2500

That's nearly $5000 right there and you haven't even decided on an entire rotating assembly, block, cam, dyno tune, injectors, fuel pump, clutch set, timing chain set, oil pump, etc, etc, etc.
