Convince me!!
I like the LT1 Camaro styling better, personally. Especially at night. My red one did look a little bit like a Geo, but had an evil, devilish look to it.
I still love the LS1 Camaro styling, but it reminds me of a Chrysler sometimes...which isn't good.

Well ran into some more questions.
1. How many miles can you put in a LS1, I know you can put up to 150k on a LT1 just wondering how the LS1 holds up.
2. are there any long term problems as in having to do more repairs?
3. Are you happy with your LS1??

This should help-
I would have gladly gotten an LS1 if I could have found a good deal on one. But I couldn't, so I got the next best thing. I would take an LS1 over LT1 anyday just so I wouldn't have to worry about that stupid opti anymore. In the end it will just come down to preferences but you should take an LS1 if you can get it just because it has a much better top end.

before i got my camaro, I was unsure which one I wanted
The final choices were a '97 Firehawk Formula with 30k miles, bone stock for $15,000....bad *** car IMO
A '97 30th SS, 60k miles for $18,000, some boltons, great looking car, but i disagreed on the price since the owner probably beat on it since it was modded slightly
or my '98 Z28, 38k miles, bone stock for $17,000
I probably coulda gotten my Z28 for $14,000 if I hadnt traded in my old truck in....the dealership owner sayed my truck was a burden on him, which was complete B.S. He wouldnt budge on the price, and now I wish I woulda went with the Firehawk
But I love the LS1's, they are hella easier to work on IMO, and they respond much better to mods.
Price gauging on the GenIII motors is rediculous, but companies like Patriot Performance and others are paving the way for awesome parts for low prices (compared to the typical part for LS1s).
