converter in my 1998 z28?

converter in my 1998 z28?

i can get a torque converter foe my 98 z28 from my freinds 02 vette. Will this be worth it? or do i need to get a high dollar one to see a diffrence? Also if anyone is selling one let me know. thanks all...

An enterprising fella, isn't he? Does he/she by chance work in tele-marketing?

It's not worth your money or time to swap in stock GM hardware. An aftermarket converter is what you need, but it doesn't necessarily have to be high dollar. Do you consider the amount of a car payment "high dollar"?

I'll let someone with an A4/aftermarket converter answer this more completely for you. I just didn't want you to buy and install your friend's converter by sunrise before anyone had the opportunity to give you advice

As Chris said, there is no benefit switching from a stock C5 convertor to your car. Now if the guy with the C5 had an aftermarket one in there and is just getting rid of it, then yeah, go for it if the price is right.
