I have questions on computer chips or power programers whichever.... i want to buy a power chip that would best comply with what i have now and will have in the future... as of now i have stealth air box, maf, borla, and headers are comming and so is a ram air, and any sites on those things would be helpful too .... so anyone that can help or give advice i'm open for it... thanx

I was warned by a Chevy mechanic not to raise the rev limiter unless you do some internal work to the motor. He told me that the "rods will look a little more U shaped than they should". Obviously that is an exaggeration, but I think I will take his word for it. He told me that he has had to fix quite a few LS1's that had a programmer raise the limiter.

I ran my rev limiter to 6500 w/o any problem.

let me tell ya, the only thing in an LS1 going to break from rpm is going to be a valvespring problem or bent pushrod. the lower end handles it fine. ed wright seems to be a popular choice.

Obviously that Chevy mechanic knows little about LS1's. I've had my rev limiter set at 6600 since I got my heads and cam. Comp 918 springs with stock pushrods. I have yet to have a problem with bending pushrods or with the bottom end. When I was stock I was shifting at 6200, still no problems. These LS1's love to breathe on the top end.

the only one's i've found with pushrod problems are over-revved LS1's with the stock valve springs. this is usually from a accidental downshift instead of upshift under ful throttle (obviously manual trans cars) causing it to go well past the rev limiter.
