Comp lifters

Is there any advantage to #875 Comp. lifters? for 120 dollars? I've got the chance at a good deal, so if its worth it for extra reliability, I might just install them with my H/C in a couple weeks.

Re: Comp lifters

Don't do it,, look at the sticky at the top of the LT1 forum... they fail, I just had my heads and cam put in last month,,and new comp 875 lifters, I just pulled the intake today because car has run like crap since I had it done, four of them failed...the clips cam completly off.. now there somewhere in the oil pan...

their trash... oem will work fine...or summit has there brand which I heard are made by crane for 104.00 for the set..

Re: Comp lifters

Does anyone second the Summit lifters or stay with the ones in the car? The reason I'm asking so much is its just hard to believe that oem equipment can be that much more reliable.

Re: Comp lifters

He's got an LTI...I've never seen LS1 Summit lifters, but I'm not in the market for them either.

Do a search on ls1tech for the Comp lifters.

Re: Comp lifters

I'd get the Melling stock-style lifters for $160.

Re: Comp lifters

its not that i necissarily NEED to replace them, its kind of like why I replaced ny rockers with harland sharps, If it will be just a bit more reliable and let me rev a little higher safely, then it'll be worth it.
