Cold ticking

I have a 2002 ss camaro with just under 40000 miles. My problem is when the car sits for more than a couple hours it ticks pretty loud untill you hit the gas pedal and push oil into the valve train. I have great oil pressure at an idle. I didn't know if this was normal or what the problem might be. Thanks for any insight people might be able to give
