Clicking noise coming from under console area......

I recently purchased a 1999 firehawk 6 speed and am concerned about a noise I'm hearing. It's a clicking/ticking noise coming from under the console area. The noise is more prominent when it's cold and seems to get quiter as the tranny warms up. It only makes the noise when the car is moving and the noise doesn't change by gear or if the clutch is enagaged or disengaged......the car just has to be moving. Now the noise will come and go going over bumps or dips in the road that causes the suspension to move up and down. One way I can always get the noise to go away is if I get on the brakes hard and while I'm on the brakes the noise is gone.....when I release the brakes the noise it back.
I was just wondering if anyone else has had this same problem or if anyone can tell me what this might be. Thanks!

Re: Clicking noise coming from under console area......

check the driveshaft, you might have a ziptie on it that is smacking the underside of the car every time it comes around

i know of a few f-bodies that had this from the factory

EDIT:
actually what i just remembered is that the ziptie is usually mounted somewhere NEAR the driveshaft and not on it, but the "tail" is laying on the driveshaft and smacks the weight every time it comes around, making a noise.

Re: Clicking noise coming from under console area......

thanks for the reply.....i've looked for anything obvious and can't see anything....the guy i bought the car from had a SPEC II clutch installed and 4.10 gears, the tranny itself never had any work done though....but it sure makes sense that SOMETHING is rubbing since it comes and goes depending on the suspension movement.....
