I think it's between the cheapest version of the TSP lid and SLP lid. http://www.texas-speed.com/cat_detai...98-02LS1F-Body That's a link to the TSP lids, it's towards the bottom. I have heard more bad things about SLP lids then any of the others.

I was looking there. Do I need the optional piece that adds $19.97 to the price?

I'll also probably order it,but i have a question. Is it better for performance to buy a k&n filter or should the stock one be fine? Also, does a normal k&n filter for the ls1 fit on the ss?

Yes the Z28 filter goes on the SS too, the only difference between the Z28 and SS air intake is the SS has a rubber piece on the bottom where the air comes in.

Make no mistake, this rubber piece was designed in Italy then sent to Japan to be made. Then it came to the U.S. and GM teamed up with NASA to make some sort of sticky substance to stick the rubber piece under the front of the air intake. A true modern marvel.

Lol guys.Reason i asked about the filter flow is because aftermarket filter manufacturers always claim better flow then with stock. And i asked about the fitment because there was one part for the intake i looked at that didn't fit the ss but fit the z28.I can't remember what part it was,but it only went on the z28.
