Cheapest LID is it SLP??????????
I am wanting to get a lid and I know a Lid is a lid, but where is the cheapest one. Does SLP sell it ( Can I take off the white Slp lettering on the LID) Filters for these things are $50.00 thats a rip off, but I guess people like us pay it. (if anyone has one for sale let me know, LOL
)
Thanks guys

I wouldn't be too concerned with the cheapest lid. Lids in general are cheap. SLP lids have a bad reputation for poor fitment and cracking. I suggest getting a TSP lid. I believe texas speed and performance has thier black induction lids down to $99 now. They test each lid before it ships and have an excellent reputation for quality.
As far as a filter goes I say don't buy one. It's been proven time and time again that reusable air filters like K & N and Holly do not gain any power. The only advantage they offer you over a paper filter is they can be cleaned, oiled and reused. But they can be messy and cost $50. Personally I just bought six paper filters for $4.99 each from Pep Boys and that should last me about a year. I'm just too lazy to clean a filter. I don't even like cleaning my house. The holley flter would pay for itself eventually but I would rather throw it out and put in a new one.
Good Luck

I suggest a lid from TSP, that is where I cam buying mine from this month. I have looked at a LOT of different lids and believe there is a difference. TSP test fits all thier lids and it has a warranty! I found no others that do that. I also called them and spoke w/ them and they are very nice and easy to work with. I'm going w/ TSP.
Just wanted to throw out thre that i purchased a blemished SLP lid a few months ago and the result was perfect fit, one lil scratch on the lid and good gains. Everybody loves TSP but a lid is a lid, is a lid. Get the cheapest and enjoy it!
The worst thing about SLP lids, IMO, is that the quality varies a lot from lid to lid...
I bought mine used from a member on another board and have had no problems whatsoever with fit, finish, rubbing, seal etc. Nothing.
Then you hear about those people with all kinds of problems with them.
Not to take away any business from the sponsors of this, or any other, site, but why buy new anyway? Pretty much the only thing I've bought new for any of my F-bodies in the last 4 years was the FlowTech cutout I have. Saves you a lot of $$$, you know.
You can find used lids for 60-90 bucks shipped and used K&N filters (yeah, yeah, psychocabbage, we know the benefits are debatable...
) set you back about 20-25 bucks shipped.
Just keep your eye on the F0r Sale section and you'll find good deals.

They have lids for $75 (unblemished). Design is the closest I've seen to the TSP.
If you want a TSP:
http://www.ls1.com
There are 2 (1 smoked and one black) for sale $100, and $90 respectively. Both are OBO. So ya just might get a very good deal.
