car stalls when a/c on.....
Hey guys. If you havent seen my past posts like a month ago, I will bring you up to date. I have done a h+c swap, headers, 42lb injectors, ls7 lifters, ls2 guide plates, texas speed x-pipe, etc. The tranny has been acting funny, prolly going soon. Im installing a t-56 in it later anyhow... Anyways to the real problem. When at idle, the car usually sits at 1,000 rpms, idles fine stays cool, even in traffic. Highest temp was under 200 sitting in traffic for like 10 minutes, otherwise 185-190. Anyhow, when @ idle, I turn the a/c on and the car slips into death. It will bog, bog, then die. A/c off at idle, its fine. If you cruise at like 45-50, normal speed and turn the a/c on you can feel it kick in, like a 4cyl car haha. I did the swap myself and "my work" is fine. Engine is smooth and very strong. I can't put my finger on why its acting funny when the a/c is on.... A/c runs cold btw....
The tuner needs to set the rpm with the A/C on, let me guess a/c wasn't working during the tune? If it was working then they probably forgot to set the rpm for when a/c is on. When you turn on the A/C it actually drops your rpm's down at idle that's why it stalls, mine did the same exact thing a couple of weeks ago, the tuner made the adjustments in 5 minutes and now it idle's fine with a/c on. Another thing, don't get paranoid about the temps rising up to 210-215 with the a/c on it's normal, mine is at 185 with no a/c and 205 with a/c.
