He wanted 7500$ for a car that needs new rotors, brakes, replaced head gasket, exhaust that requires welding, a problem with the driver side window, won't even move... to much **** to worry about before I even got it. So what i'm just going to do now is just save for like 1 1/2 year and a half but hopefully sooner, I want to get a 2nd income illegally or not... L0L

But I want a LS1 now no doubt because the 2000-01 are just better cars period ya know... brakes, power, economy, etc... that all true right? Not just rumors i've heard... L0L
I'm just really pissed that I have to wait so god damn long... but one of the main reasons why I want a LS1 Trans Am is because of the Ram Air hood you can put on. The raptor or even the stock WS6 hood, holy christ man they are freakin amazing looking... L0L

Chris
That's cool man. Stuff happens, but most of the time it's for the better. I'm not trying to bust on you, but when you make statements like auto f-bodies are gay on a performance based board such as this, you're gonna get a lot of flack. Good luck finding your Trans Am!

I certainly would not bust on him for having a '94 Formula or any car for that matter. If you read the rest of the thread, I think you'll get an idea as to why I was giving him a little flack.

Yo

I was talking about having a LT1, I was talking about me saying... I'm going to, i'm going to, i'm going to!! Than all of a sudden!! Nah, doens't happen... But I do prefer a LS1 over a LT1... they just look nicer too... freakin amazing all around. The Car has just has everything I want in a car, looks, power, aerodynamics, man..., everything!!

It just sucks because I have to wait like 1 1/2 years or so to save up for it. How much you think a GOOD 2000-01 will cost? I will probably want a 2001 because its newer and HAS to be better someway!! Its newer god dammit!! L0L

Unless for some reason everyone agrees that a 2000 is a much better choice for a LS1 Trans Am, NOT a Formula, strictly Trans Am M6 and nothing else... sorry to all you A4's or Formula guys... no offense, I just have a better feel for the look on a Trans Am and love driving manual... Right now I drive a freakin 5 speed 93 Escort GT and I love it... L0L

Chris

P.S. All Trans Ams come with a sickass stereo right? I just need to add a nice sub, but that shouldn't be to much of a problem right because the amp wires and whatnot are already installed?
Thanks

If he wants to add a WS6 hood or a Firehawk hood, that wouldn't make him a ricer at all. Its only if he badges it as such.
Go with a Pro 5.0 shifter by the way, you won't be dissapointed! I bought mine from norcalstreet.com for $170 shipped. Good luck on getting your LS1! You'll absolutely f'in love it!

so its not like when the base honda puts an SI or typeR bodykit on????? i think it is....... a ws6 hood is for the ws6

i didn't pay 3k more for a ws6 just to have some basic ta run around town with a hood

if you have a basic t/a be proud of it and if you have a ws6 be proud of it....... don't make the t/a into something it isn't and remember that hood is less areodynamic (sp?)

No, its not like when someone puts an SI or TypeR bodykit on their honda. Only if they put the SI or typeR badges on it. I'm damn proud of my WS6, but if I had a base T/A, there is no way in hell that I wouldn't put a WS6 style hood on it (just wouldn't put a WS6 badge on it, or ram air decals on the hood). Just because an average T/A slaps a WS6 hood on isn't going to make it equal to the value of your car, and sure as hell isn't going to make that car a ricer. If someone is looking for a used WS6, they aren't going to buy a base T/A that someone has stuck a ram air hood on. Same with an SS.

And who are you to say what is and isn't rice with a name like red91tsiawd?

Yo

I just want the hood because it looks freakin beautiful as hell... thats it. If it adds hp or not, I don't care, I love the look and thats all there is to it, I would like to have a WS6 of course, but if I can't find one and all I can find it a regular Trans Am, than so be it, i'll just put one on myself. I'm not going to put any decals or crap like that because its not what i'm into nor stand for. Like all the signs on cars like, "Turbo Inside" or "AEM" for their sponsors and crap.

I just want a damn good looking car with a freakin sickass Ram Air hood!! Is that so much to ask!?!?

You can have problems with my Automatic statement but i'm never going to change my mind about it. I don't see anyone would ever want to Drive an automatic over a manual... if you want better times or whatever than fine whatever helps, but as for a fun factor or just plain driving period, I would definitely, 100%, everytime take a manual over an automatic.

Anyway... The Pro 5.0 Shifter thing... why is that a must purchase anyway... I want to make my car faster obviously, but not a full blown racing car. I mean, if it helps daily driving than hell yea i'll get it. I basically want to get everything I can to improve daily driving/racing needs. I forgot the dudes s/n but he clued me in on tons on information and i'll probably save that post if its all accurate (Which I have to find out through a variety of people).

Back on subject. Just get a 2000 SS and put an LS6 intake on it and you'll have the best of both worlds. Somebody confirm!!

When you get a 6 speed f-body, you'll understand why you need an aftermarket shifter. Two must haves will be:

1. Computer Assisted Gear Shift removal
2. Aftermarket shifter (Pro 5.0 !!)

I thought the 01-02's were given the smaller truck cam for more low end torque over the previous years?

Yeah you did. But hood does not = WS6. The hoods look cool so a lot of people get one for thier formula/TA's. I found a place that sells them brand new for $485.00. You add another $200 for painting and you got a sweeter looking car (IMO) for $685.00. I'm gonna order one for my car with my tax refund next year.

But it won't make my my car a WS6 and I won't badge it as one. And for $90 you can order the lowered airbox to make the hood functional ram air. It'll just be a cooler looking Formula for approximately $790 instead of 3K

But don't be offended by the hoods. Be offended by the ones who badge the car WS6 or WS7 after they put the hood on. And remember yours is an original so you can be proud of that.
