Exclamation can't find a good answer...

Ok....I am looking to find out what brand of oil is BEST for an LS1!!!
I'm not finding anything definitive on any certain brand.
I used to have a Honda Del Sol before my Z and used Royal Purple with K&N filter every time and it ran like a champ
but i keep seeing that RP isn't that good on the LS1.

HELP!!!! Whatever I use I intend on using a synthetic. But I want to know what brand.
I looked at the Bob The Oil Guys site but you can't search for a thread and I don't have the patience to look through 400 some odd threads!!!

Please help me with a more definitive answer!!!!

I just want to know what's the best to use for the V8 LS1....It's a 98 and has about 120k miles on it...i think I used Castrol synthetic last time and it runs good but I want to know what to use to make it run GREAT!!!!!

AND what spark plugs to use!!! (and the best/easiest way to get to the passenger side!!!)

Re: can't find a good answer...

"Best" is always subjective. Especially when it comes to motor oil. I highly doubt you can choose a "bad" oil today. I have personally always ran Mobil 1, and that's really just because it was the OE brand (I know some have soured on it over the years, but whatever. I've never had any issues).

Most LS1 guys run the NGK TR5/TR55 plugs on mostly stock motors. I am actually in the midst of doing plugs and wires now. Best tutorial out there for the passenger side is probably the one at installuniversity.com.

I always run mobile 1. If it was good enough for GM from the factory, it is good enough for me.
