Can you hear the Flowmaster at idle and when crusing on a LS1?

I'm thinking I might do that too later. I want an electric cutout.

Ok guys, I did it! I got the Flowmaster 80 Series put on and it gave me the sound I wanted. It's still quieter than the LT1 but not by a lot. It actually seemed pretty quiet when it was put on but when it got broke in I could swear it's louder now. Very nice. I'm going to sell the Corsa muffler. The Flowmaster muffler itself is smaller too and to me looks better.

Thx guys for your replies, much appreciated. Woo hoo, I'm happy now.

It's too bad you cut up such an expensive exhaust. You should have just sold it complete and could have got a lot of money back. But I'm sure you wanted the tips.

Flowmaster is a little louder than Corsa at idle(and cruise) but you still can't really hear it sitting inside the car when at a stop after the car is fully warmed up. Same goes for any other aftermarket system. He!!, I could barely hear the LM at idle inside my old 2000 Z28.

I'm telling you, you cannot make a stock-cammed LS1 rumble loudly at idle unlike your old LT1. Two completely different motor's. That is your problem.

Get an aftermarket camshaft with a 112 LSA and you'll hear your LS1 at ANY rpm.

BTW, an open cutout on your I-pipe will be a bit louder at idle than your new Flowmaster(especially inside the car).

Yep, I love the tips. I'm thinking about getting an electric cutout later and possibly an aftermarket cam. No, it's not as loud as the LT1, but it's still quite nice. I have been thinking about getting Hooker LT headers too. I don't know if that would cause a problem with the Eibach Pro-kit that I'll be getting later though.

I still think Flowmaster is a LOT louder at idle or cruise on a stock LT1 vs a stock LS1.

Like I said, a good cam with a 112 LSA will really make your LS1 rumble. You'll need custom tuning though since you have an A4. And make sure to throw in a bigger stall converter since an aftermarket cam needs one to be effective with an automatic.

Hooker LT's will work fine with your Eibach Pro-kit, but I'd recommend you have a custom Y-pipe built with highflow cats so that your car will "actually" sound good. Flows sound horrible without cats on an LS1(RASPY).

Thx for the advice. I'm new to cams.

As for the cats, I may go with the high flow cats. I was thinking about keeping the stock ones on because I heard we will start getting emissions checks in Florida. God I hope we don't though.
