Camaro's playing mind games with me...

Okay first off it was the time she decided she just plain and simply didn't want to use 4th gear - and I havn't had any more trouble from the transmission since then...

but just yesterday - I just pulled her into the driveway, turned off the ignition, came back 15 minutes later and turned the key to restart it - absolutely nothing... ...didn't even TRY to start - no turn over, no crank... it was as if I was turning the key for nothing. All the lights / radio / electronics worked fine but no ignition whatsoever... I tried this a few more times, checked the battery - connections - even relays, retried, nothing... ...So I gave in and decided to put it in Nuetral to push it in the garage in prayer that I was far enough up the hill where the car wouldn't role... ...I wasn't... It rolled backwards in which I immediately hit the brakes, put it back in park - and for the heck of it I cranked it one more time... STARTS WITHOUT TROUBLE!??!?! It cranked like nothing ever was wrong with it!... ...Whats going on here?

Assuming its a 4L60 a sticking neutral safety switch could do that, moved the shifter and it came back. That or if the security light was on it could be that stupid chip, its been a while but I dont remember if the radio worked when the chip was dirty.

I love my car to death but after she plain didn't start up, leaving me with a possability of being stuck somewhere I didn't want to be, or decided not to shift into 4th gear / leaving me with an easy $1,500 repair bill which is why I traded my old car in for a newer one... Oh and paying $3.50 for premium... ...I started looking to trade her for an Infiniti G35 Had no problems with her since...

Then again she could have just been pissed because my brother in law reversed into the nose of it leaving a scar - in which due to their predicament I was "nice" and let it go - and just buffed it out...

With your problem of not shifting into 4th and the no start I would say that you need to give some attention to your shifting cable and linkage.
The no 4th could be caused by the shifter indicating 4th but not moving the trans end quite far enough. The no start could have been caused by the same thing. I'd check out the cable and connection points.
If either symptom shows up again try moving the shifter some.

well the solenoid was bad but also the wiring to the solenoid was bad.... sometimes the car started sometimes i had absolutely nothing, not even a click, eventually it stayed at absolutely nothing.. but like these guys are saying i know nothing about automatics so check out that neutral safety switch also.
