Question Which cam for my 01?

I'm thinking about buying a cam, and was wondering what you guys would recommend. The only mod I have is a TSP lid, and eventually I'm going to buy a GMMG or make a similar exhaust to the GMMG. I want around 370-380rwhp, but don't want it to be noticeable soundwise. On the gmmginc.net website, there is a black 435hp WS6 on their sound clips section that just sounds unbelievable. What has been done to that car, and what type of cam does it have? Thanks

A Z06 cam is about all you'll be able to find that'll be unnoticeable sound wise. That is, unless you get a custom ground cam. Personally, if you were gonna mod the car, I'd wait before getting a cam. Do the other bolt-ons first so that when you do a heads & cam package, you see the full benefits from them.

Omega9,

I agree on doing the cam and heads at the same time. Doesn't mean you necessarily have to do all the other bolt-ons first though. With more duration created by the cam, you'll need to flow more fuel, so a modified throttle body or larger diameter throttle body is likely in order to accommodate the cam/lifters.

I received some great info/feedback/expertise from Brian at Texas Speed online, or (806)866-0734. Try contacting them for info on cam/lifter kits as well as compatible heads/induction setups for your '01. Good prices, too.

Have fun; stay safe....

Are you going to be installing headers at the same time?

I'll be installing headers early next year. The guy will install a cam and heads for $300. I do want my WS6 to sound like the one on the GMMG website though. Wish I knew what was done to that car.

If you are looking for a stealthy cam and still want to make some nice power, then I would suggest a 222/222, .581"/.581" on a 116LSA.
What heads are you looking into? and headers?

I would call up the sponsors, expalin my goals for the car, and see what they have to say.
