Question Which cam to buy?

Hi, I really don't know much about camshafts, or other parts included with them so I was wondering if anyone could recommend me a cam for a future purchase. I have a CORSA catback exhaust and an SLP induction lid. I have just ordered 1 3/4" QTP Long-Tube race version headers, a QTP y-pipe with dual electric cutouts. As far as performance, the rest of the car is stock, nothing done to the engine. What would be a good cam for a car with my specs. I'm looking for a decent sounding idle, somewhat choppy.

-Thanks in advance

Go look at a site that sells cams, they will tell you what those numbers mean, like exhaust in/out and lobe seperation angle.

If you are gonna get a cam, I highly reccomend looking into the reverse split cams that are out there, thunder racing has a couple of good grinds....

I heard the 224/224 .581 .581 114 is a great cam from some people on SLP Day in Texas. Does anyone else have this cam? How do you like it?

Any of the cams with .050" durration in the 221 to 224 range will make very nice power with bolt-ons & headers.

These cams are actually pretty mild... our heads flow so well that you don't need a lot of cam to put down close to 400 RWHP.

If you want more rumpity-rump, you'll have to stick with the 112 (or lower) LSA. The 114 will idle almost like stock with these size cams.

The note about reverse split means to use a higher duration on the INTAKE instade of the common practice of having a higher duration on the exhaust. Again, due to the LS heads flowing so well.

If you really want a noticable RuMpiTy idle, you'll need durration in the 230s and the 112 LSA. BUT, this isn't your best bet for stock heads. The car will have more usable power with the smaller cams.
