LS-1 guys, quick question..... This ricer is talking smack on our car group and will race any of us. He has a standard, non-turboed Eclipse 2.0, with a CAI, and catback (plus a yellow custom paintjob, eclipse painted on it, and other ugly ricer crap). Normally this is my 3800 range, but the guy has a decent shot of nitrous, and won't run off the bottle. I think its a 100-150 shot, can't tell.... Should my friends essentially stock '02 Z28 have any trouble with it? Thanks.

 

140 hp (non turbo) + 100 hp from the 100 shot is 240 hp.

even with a 150 shot he will still only have 290 crank hp, and thats only when he's on the juice, you'll blow him off the line (assuming you get a good launch with little wheelspin) and keep on pulling. Since our cars dyno at around 310rwhp and his is probably around 260fwhp at the most.

The race should be a joke.

of course, if he has a snail, it's another story.

 

It would be close i think with a 100 shot, cause his car is lighter..but if he does a 150 shot then your friend will win cause his engine will blow

here is a tip.
The only way you will know is if you race him. Let him talk smack, you just keep it humble and normal so just in case you get smoked you don't look like an idiot. But if you smoke him and you should, then talk as much smack as possible and laugh in his face.

 

if he has the mods u say he has u will kill him...watchout for the turbo tho.....look under his hood

 

I have a friend with a 2001 Eclipse spyder GT (whatever the F*** they call there top dog) and he has a CAI and NOS. He runs a 25 shot on the nitrous and with the CAI he was dead even with my V6 Camaro which had a 3.08 ratio. Against an 02 Z it would take at least a 100 shot (200+100=300hp) to match a Z and I doubt the eclipse could handle a 100 shot.

The Z28 will smoke the Eclipse before the Eclipse can even get it out of park.

what a clown, your friend has 5.7L vs. 2.0, 2.0 has no chance in hell. if your friend as an auto i can tell you it won't even be a race. I would love to see how embarassed the guy will be.

Sorry i didnt mean to be one of those people who posted messages more than once. My computer got hung up and i guess i clicked on summit more than once getting impatient. It just so happens that it was on message like this one that makes me look like a real a@@ Hole like i really wanted to get my point across. Not the case because all the posts before pretty much summarized how the race would go down.

 

Thanks guys, you confirmed what I thought. This ricer ended up rearending someone this week, so his cute lil eclipse's front end is damaged. Apparently his yellow paint job and eclipse stickers helped him go alright, right into the rear end of a SUV.
