Hello Folks,

I have a 150k LS1 that I have enjoyed since day 1, after changing the oil though today I found what I think are part of the cam bearings attached to the drain plug... Can someone confirm that these are parts of the cam bearing. Is it time for a rebuild

 

its hard to tell the scale of the picture but it looks to me like the needle bearing from the rockers, check your valvetrain

 

Yes those are needle bearings from 1 or more rocker arms. You won't need a rebuild just a new set of rockers.

Do LS1's have roller cam bearings stock??

 

No. No production engine does (that I know of).

 

Thanks I have never seen an LS1 in pieces but I didn't think they did.

No. It's more of a brass 'bushing'. IIRC. Not sure if it's brass, come to think of it.
