WHATS A GOOD CAM TO INSTALL IN MY STOCK LS1 WITH BOLT ONS IM LOOKING FOR A GOOD CAM WITH POWER BUT IM NOT LOOKING FOR A SUPER RACING CAM ITS MY EVERY DAY DRIVER BUT I ALTLEAST WANNA BE IN THE 400 RWHP SECTION I HAVE SOME lS6 HEADS TOO WHAT DO YOU GUYS RECOMMEND AND MY CAR IS A 6 SPEED AND I HAVE 3;90 GEARS
that or the F13...
are the ls6 heads stock? although even if they are they would be a benefit over stock castings. but if you're gonna go through the hassle of the head swap...may as well do ported.

I would suggest that you turn your caps lock off. Caps are considered to be internet yelling.

You have to take the heads off to replace the lifters, so as long as your stock lifters are in good working condition, there's no reason to fool with them.
You'll need a cam package that includes springs, pushrods, retainers, gaskets, etc. You'll also want an LS2 timing set and an LS6 or ported oil pump.

My heads were measured around 248cc, which are absolutely too large for a stock motor, even though they are the Stage 2 portings with 2.02 valves.
I suspect that you'd get around 430+ out of that same combo with Dart 225s, AFR 205s, and possibly more with Trickflow 13.5* heads.
They were suggesting a ported oil pump. Besides, then they designed the better LS6 oil pump, they probably discontinued the LS1 version (assuming there were two different versions - not 100% sure on that). No sense in have two different oil pumps. It kills the economies of scale for the purchasing department.

TSP 228 or the 224 cam would fit the bill nicely. Stay away from the 918 springs, for now.
