actually you can "fit" it in ANY camaro or firebird....from the 60s on up.

seen it in mustangs, RX7s, S10s, GMC sonoma

what exactly do you mean "fit" it it? direct bolt on with no mods? cause everything will need a little work to get all things to function. unless you put it in a 98-02 fbody that originally came equipped with an LS1 and six speed.

i think your question is a bit too broad.

Going to be hard to find a f-bird/camaro that the LS1/6speed came out of how hard would it be to put it in a V6 version automatic of the car 90's and up? Also on the S10 that might be a better idea for me since insurance would be lower

to put it in a 3rd gen, not horribly hard. it's been done many times. search around here, there a some posts on it, and links to some good info.

but off the top of my head you'll need the wiring harness, new motor mounts, trans crossmember

if you've never done anything llike that mechanically...it may be over your head.

why would it be hard to find a camaro/firebird that had an LS1/6spd in it? or do you mean one that doesn't already have one in it?

All the LS1/6-speeds are either new and 20k or over 100k in miles... I found a V6 95 manual (5speed) camaro on ebay for $500 only thing not working is engine... and I know where to get a Ls1 engine with around 0-20k miles for around 2k-3k

what tranny is in the V6 5 speeds? and iv never done anything like this mechanically but I really dont care im going to college in a few years as a mechanic so might as well start learning now

the v6 five speeds were the T5 transmission...

they can only handle about 1/2 the power output of the LS1....so you'll need a new trans too.

And if you plan on using A/C you have to either get a new bracket or beat in the side ofyour car to fit the A/C components in a thirdgen

There's a walkthrough on some site. I think the bracket is just the Corvette version of the LS1.. I don't know the details. I remember reading about it a good bit ago. I believe the A/C won't clear the shocktower area, so you have to notch it out.

there's a really good write-up on some website.. search the forums (or TGO) for LS1 conversion in a thirdgen.

I'm assuming you're trying to do it to a thirdgen, anyways.. because you said 90's.
