Post buying a 2000 trans am

I'm looking to buy a 2000 trans am with a six speed but i am a little hesitant about it because it has 47,000 miles on it. I know this is pretty high but should i even worry about it becase it won't be driven in winter anyways.

Depends on how well it's been maintained, ask questions like oil consumption, check maintenance records, listen for any knocks or strange sounds. How does it drive, clutch seem solid, brakes? Is it on a lot or from the owner? If on a lot see if they'll give you the name of the owner. Run a carfax to check for any wrecks etc. Not that high of mileage for a three year old car, about average. Good luck...........

I bought a 2001 with 29,960 miles on it. That was a lot of miles for a one year old car.

Haven't had a lick of trouble other than the usual stuff. 2000 and early production 2001 have a high risk of having bad cats. Write down the VIN, run a carfax, and then visit a dealership and get them to print the service history for the VIN. That will at least tell you what warranty work was done as well as anything else the previous owner had done at a dealership.
