Brakes and rotors

I had to come to a pretty sudden stop today and when i went to apply the brakes the pettle stared to pulse and the brakes where acting like they where almost chatering it was wet out side and this was the first time this has happened

my question is what could be wroung warped rotors, pads, calipers and what are the best replacements and how much would the parts and install be

seems like every time i have money for mods something almost as important like brakes or tires need replacing

thanks for the help

Ummm....no not trying to sound like a smartass or anything, but given the conditions outside and what you described, it just sounds like your ABS was kicking on....thats all.

If the car continues to pulse even at regular stops, then yes the rotors are probably warped. Give it a few days to see what the deal is.

Sounds like the rotors are warped. Mine are, and that's what happens when I brake hard.

Probly just the abs, if it was the rotors you would feel it all the time. Symptoms of warped rotors are:
The car will start surging at low speeds just before you come to a stop with normal breaking.
High speeds (above 60) you will get a vibration in the steering wheel also with normal breaking.
I should know, mine warped 5 times now. And my car only has 15k on the clock. So I replaced the stockers with some auto zones. I hope that will fix the problem. So far so good, 500 miles no problems.

If you do need new brakes/rotors, be very sure that the wheels' lug nuts are torqued properly after all the new stuff is installed. I had the Autozone Aimco rotors and they held up for some time, but they eventually warped, I believe due to uneven torquing of the lug nuts.
