brake problem

I am not sure.. but it seems like the calpier is not retracting... what do I do... someone said to check the guid pins... have no idea what those are... is that on the pad? I put in a new hardware kit.. and put new rotors and pads... still haveing the same problem... if the caliper can come out.. I think it is fine... is it not frozen. because I can retract it... could it be I need bleed the system? when do u actually bleed brakes? when do you know?

Thanks

Re: brake problem

only 3 things will freeze up a caliper.

1. the caliper

if you said you can retract the caliper piston when you dismount the caliper, then its not that

2. a bad brake line

this is probably your problem, it can collapse on the inside partially, preventing the release of pressure on the brake fluid even if it looks fine on the outside.

3. brake master cylinder

highly unlikely, but possible

i'd def. say replace the brake line... fairly simple, cheap job.
in doing this you should bleed the brakes too

you can probably find out how at www.installuniversity.com

most brake upgrades involve bleeding the brakes, so look at those. im sure brake bleeding procedures are included in some of them.

good luck
