Borla off road y-pipe
Borla off road y-pipe
I am looking at either a borla or bassani off road y-pipe for my camaro. I currently am runnning my stock manifolds and was just curious if anyone has run one of these and also just to get an opinion on the pros and cons of this?
Re: Borla off road y-pipe
If you don't need to pass emissions theres really no cons to an ORY except the fact that the SES light will be on since the rear O2 sensors would be useless. Also the car would get louder.
Re: Borla off road y-pipe
i ran the bassani orp for about a year on my LS1.
the fit was reasonable, not great.
and the driver side pipe had MAJOR clearance issues with the frame. it's in a place that couldn't be adjusted by playing with the pipes. every time i got on it, or even launched more than 1/2 throttle, the exhaust would hit the frame.
i cured it by installing a set of poly motor mounts, which reduced engine movement...and exhaust movement...to almost zero.
you can see pics of my bassani on page 2 of my website in the sig. ignore the horrible welds :blah:

Re: Borla off road y-pipe
Well I ordered my borla OYP yesterday should be in sometime today hopefully.
I'm going to try and put it on as soon as I get it but not to sure on that just yet. I will post some install pictures and comments on the set up when I'm done.
