BLACKWING = The Best

I bought a Donaldson Blackwing Reuseable air filter, so long K&N and Holley. This is the filter SLP was going to carry but for some reason they never really had them.

It features a patented synthetic media and has a dual density cap, so the top is a foam edge just like a paper filter so it seals.

The price is high but to me it was well worth it.

It's not. The blackwing isn't really any better than the stock lid.

It's an air filter.

Glad you're happy with it, but I just can't get too excited about an air filter.

Whoops I don't know about the filter. People on LS1.com are talking about a blackwing air lid though.

#1- It is built differently to seal better
#2- There is no dust in the engine side of the lid
#3- Flows better than a Holley or K&N

I know not to many will get excited over a filter, but replacing the OEM donaldson would get expensive ($49) and being that it was paper I cannot just clean it when ever I please.

But alot of people do like reusable filters so I just wanted to share my $.02

Paper still flows better than any re-useable filter. The only advantage to a K&N, Powershot or Donaldson is that you dont have to run to the store every time it gets dirtyt. Just wash, oil and re-use. There is no performance gain.

There is only ONE paper filter that out flows a reusable and that is the Donaldson High Flow. Standard paper filters don't come close.

No performance gain? huh? I got 3hp thats RWHP out of my paper filter over a re-usable filter.. Doesnt Power = Performance?

My girlfriends car was slower with the air filter removed at the track, so sometimes more power isn't made by complete unrestricted flow.
