01-02's definitely...smaller cam, but better intake, run 12's easily with a tire and lid.

what about reliablity or build quality?

From the factory the 01-02's seems to trap higher....Not enough to get a good buy on a 98 and mod her up though

As was stated earlier, any differences are minor. Decision should be based on how good of a deal you can pull

The best years for the LS1 in the F-body are 98-02, so get one of those years and you'll be happy!
