Best window motor?

My driver's side motor is facing death. It's still trying, but putting up a lousy-*** fight.

Are there any other options for stronger or better window motors that aren't as prone to burning out? I don't want to pay to put another stocker in there if I know the part is too weak for the job of taking on a window that large.

I have had no problems with the Siemens I bought from Autozone for around $50 that came with a lifetime warranty.

Yeah, I was going to go that route.

Wanted to double check and see if there's any other options. Could a Ford motor possibly work? The windows in my 13 year old Cougar are twice as fast as my Firebird's.

I put the one from AutoZone in mine about 6 months ago. I have had no problems goes up allot faster then it used to. It’s a real easy job to do. There is a rite up somewhere but I lost it. Just look around it should not be too hard to find.

If the LS1's are the same as the LT1's (as far as window motor placement) here's a link:

My motor is out too, i'm going to AutoZone tomorrow morning and pick up a Siemens. I'll post back tomorrow if I get it done.
Thanks Bastardcat for posting Shoebox's link.....I wouldn't have tried doing the replacement without it. Saves me $$$

It's not too hard to do. But takes a good amount of time and labor, usually takes a few hours to do it if it's your first time. Well worth doing it yourself for $50 in parts instead of going to the dealer and be charged $300+.

These are the best directions.

This is crazy! I got up and was gunna go to AutoZone but I didn't have any pants to work in. I Went to Wal-Mart and bought some then off to AutoZone. I tried my power window just hoping it would work and HOLY CRAP IT DID. I know it wasn't the switch or the wires that were wrong. The motor had all signs it was bad too. Its just unexplainable......maybe its that player I been saying?
