STB's & SFC's, what do you think?

BMR, KB, Spohn, G2, SLP....??

It would seem like the SLP or the KB Diamond SFC's would be the best support.....
What are you guys' experience and opinions on the subject?

STB's, is a three point all that much better than a 2 point? Which brand would you go with if you were purchasing it...

I am planning my upgrades...

I wanted the stregth so I went w/KBDD's.
The car feels much better than others with just tubulars.
I am glad I went DD.

First off don't get a 3 pt STB, it can pull the cowl
and break the windshield. I got the SLP STB

Did you search for SFC's I know there are tons of
posts. I got Hotchkis cause they tuck up the best
I saw. If I had to redo it I'd probably go with SLP weld,
but I'm happy with what I have.

Is the breaking of the windshield a common prob with the 3pt braces?

Breaking the windshield with a 3 pt STB is not common but I have seen it happen. For the most part on a regular street car its not much of a problem, on serious auto-cross cars it can happen. I saw it happen when a car got off the track and got into some bumps on the grass and "bounceded around" off the track. Not wrecking, but getting in the weeds and stuff, that is when I saw it happen to a firebird. So its unlikely, but the stress on the cowl looked to be a leading contributor to the windshield cracking.

I'm running SpectacleSolutions DD bolt-in SFC's. I think they sell for $225 now, powdercoated in your choice of colors.

The BMR is going to be the cheapest, and probably a good choice. The Hotchkis is better quality, but has the same result for more money. The KBDD's are a cheaper knock-off of the SLP's and will most likely have the same bracing result there as well. The difference between the 2 point and the 3 point brace isn't going to be noticable. A 2 point should be fine, unless you just want to spend the extra money. I'd save that money for other mods

I am going with BMR boxed weld in sub-frame connectors. Just my two cents. From what I saw they seem to be hte best bang for the buck.

KBDD's are not cheap knock off of slp's. slp actually copied them. They weigh 32lbs, 8lbs less than slp's & make a huge difference. Some may say overkill but they are awesome SFC's. I definitely recommend them.

Go with the SLP bolt-on SFC, if you choose the SLP's let me know and I'll give you the link to the install. I would pass on the Spectacle Solutions SFC's.

The BMR's hang down way too low for me.
You can see them as you walk towards the car.
You'd never know my Hotchkis were there withing
getting on your knees. Talking boxed to Boxed.
I think the tubular are too weak.

Well, as far as visibility...
I have the GFX on the Z, will the BMR's still be visible below them?

What you plan on doing with your makes a HUGE difference in what connectors will be the "best" for you.
Road course time, auto cross, agressive street driving........get any of the cross braced ones. And SLP copied Kenny Brown not the other way around.
Normal street, mild drag racing...........straight tubular work great.
High HP drag car................boxed straight.
I have Wolf light weight tubular in my street/drag car.
