OK, here's the thing. You want the switch and indicator light to be visible, very visible. THey come on a harness so they have to be within a couple on inches of each other. Here's why you have to see them.(unless they've fixed this??) You can easily over torque, or "close" too far on the cut out motor. The morot is easily strong enough to break the shaft in half(oops). I thought I saw where newer ones have a cut off resistor now, but I'm not sure.

But to hide it? Led in the driver's console vent, maybe. Or even on the passenger side of the center console, somewhere. or...Glove box, and run a wire to the ASR for power and ground into the body!! That'd be hidden

If you don't smoke, you can rewire the cigarette lighter to open the cutout when you push it in. Just a thought.

you need a light so you dont try to open or close it when its already there. it can tear up the motor/gears

how could you put it under the seat? the same way you would put it anywhere else, wire it up and stick it under there... you would reach it under the seat by bending down and reaching for it I would imagine.

Pretty much every place with semi easy access has been suggested. If you are unwilling to put it in any of the places already mentioned you will have to either put it in a place that you cant easily get to, like behind dash pieces, or just not get one. You cant have it all.

I am guessing you live at home with your parents? Is this your car? Are your parents paying for it or are they paying for your insurance?

I would rather have headers than a cutout any day. Headers would give you better gas mileage, better sound, better power, and not be illegal.

i DO like the idea of it under the seat, but its a power seat. Do you attach it to something or just let it sit down there by itself? I don't have ASR in my car, so on the dash, there is just a blank switch. It has electrical wires going to it though. So, if i went to a chevy dealer and bought the ASR toggle switch... could the cutout be wired up to that? So when you flick the ASR switch on, the cutout opens? Thanks for your help

GO Fast--Back when I had my '97 Z28 I did not have ASR, so I went and bought the switch. I think it was under 10 bucks, it took some playing with but I got it to work. I used the ASR switch to run my fans, so at the track or in traffic I could turn them both on for extra cooling. That was no one notices. On my new Camaro I have ASR so now I put the fan switch down by the trunk release on the kick panel. I am going to use my ash tray for my nitrous switches.

I dont understand why he needs an indicator light. If the cutout is open, your going to know its open. Theres no way you would try to open the cutout when it's already open.
