Talking best intake set up for 99 WS6

i have a 99 pontiac Trans AM WS6
my first mods or gonna be to the intake.
ill start at the back, i work at a GM dealership in parts and i can get a LS6 intake for 340$
bore out stock TB (need some info on that) $ ?
SLP smooth bellow 30$
MAF i think i will leave stock, should i make it 80mm?
TSP lid 100$ (can i get i clear or carbon fiber)
K&N filter 30$

here is were i can't make up my mind.
i will do FRA ( i dont care about dirt, all that tells me is this mod actually works. i want to do the super sucker cai, but i have a WS6 hood and i know i can use that but i dont know how.

i dont want to spend money obviously, so my questions are, is this a good setup? (the LS6 manifold,80mm TB, stock MAF just 80mm, smooth bellow, TSP lid)?
AND how do i use my WS6 hood, so i dont have to buy a aftermarket cai. what are some times i should expect with all these mods? THANKS ALOT PLEASE RESPOND!

Always remember IMPORTS SUCK PUSHRODS RULE!!!

Hey Man I have a K&n Air filter... Used for maybe 3k miles. It`s like new ! I can give it to ya for free if You want. As soon as you`ll pay for shipping . It just sits in the box. Youd save about 50 - 60 bucks.
Yea its a good setup BUT..I would add Granatelli Mas Air meter..or if You dont want to spend that much $$$ get any...but do not keep stock one.
Bore Out TB..It will cost You about 130 bucks. Thats how much I paid (Bored&Polsihed). If You`ll wait some time I`ll sell it to YOu for $100..or less . If YOu wanna wait a littlebit. There is nothing wrong with it. I`m just getting different one.

Take care

the Gmaf bites... too much hit and miss on the LS1.. not worth it IMO.

The K&N filter is not good. I tested it and lost HP consistantly with it. I will stay with my AC Delco paper filters.

I am wondering though, with all the intake work, how is your exhaust setup?

shouldnt you be doing both evenly?

quite honestly, when I want to save $ I either hit ebay or the forsale areas... If that leads no where.. I start fabricating..

For some CAI.. I would get a rivet gun, box of rivets and some flashing from local hardware store.. Make a scale mockup with cardboard and then use it as a template.

Rivet the flashing and VIOLA! you have your own home made mod..

Then again, I am also building my own computer cases too.. so I may be a bit freakish..

I think the gains from slight mods like CAI and RAM Air are not worth the $ or effort.. Nor are they worth the possible negatives to your car. I wouldnt remove any feature on my car for more power.. I feel power should come seamlessly.. Others dont share this outlook and that is fine.
