Re: belts?

That sounds like your problem. You can spray a little belt dressing on your belts while the engine is idling, if this quiets it down then thats your problem. If you don't have belt dressing you can substitute it with wd-40 or something similar, but don't go overboard with it. If it quiets down for just a little while and then starts to squeal again, replace your belts.

Re: belts?

wd-40??? belt dressing... yea that will do it, if you want to @ss it all up. TRUST ME!!!, just replace the freaking belts. It's not hard. You will spent more time cussing @ the fact black dressing will be all over the engine and hood than just replacing the belts.

Re: belts?

I guess someone does not understand what a LITTLE means.Since when did belt dressing start hurting vehicles? The advice that was given was not only a diagnostic tool to see if that is his problem, but MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, it would also solve his problem! Before you can fix a problem, you have to know what is causing it, you don't just start changing out parts hoping you will fix it.I guess some people just do not understand common sense.

Re: belts?

allright. If you read the instructions they do say to apply it on the belts and let dry. You are suppose to remove the belts and apply even if it is a "little". If you do apply it on the engine while running you will get crap all over the engine and hood (it sprays you know). Oh by the way...I have done this and it sucks. So go ahead do as you want. I guess common sense is a relative term.
