Belt squeek!

Ok my belt was making a little noise so i put a new one on a few days ago. Well today i started to drive my car and above 2500 rpms i get a small squeek noise. I dont know if it is a pullie or what it is. If it is a pullie how the hell would i find out which one it is?

Re: Belt squeek!

Well today i put a new tensior pully on didnt help. So i pulled back on the tensior is hard is i could and it still squeeked. I then changed the idler pully and it still squeeks. I know it isnt anything to do the the AC belt because if i take off the serpentine belt and start it with just the AC belt on it doesnt squeek. I wounder if the is a bearing in something like the power steering, water pump, or alternator. What to do next?

Take the belt back off and reach down with your hand and spin each item. put some side pressure on it and see if it feels gritty or lumpy then spin it free and listen for any noise. Usually I can tell pretty easily which iten is the culprit. Probably an idler or the alternator. WPs and PSs usually don't squeak but check them anyway.
