is the bbk 80mm throttle body worth it?

My car came with a functional ram-air hood, k&n, Z06 MAF, and flowmasters. Do you think I would benefit from an 80mm throttle body? Also, how much power can be gained from a good set of headers? An add says 30 hp, but I'm skeptical that it will be that much.

a larger throttle body would probably gain you about 5hp...hardly worth the $300 price tag

and a good set of longtubes, through a standard catback will gain you a solid 15hp...it has been dynoed several times by guys in the past few months.

i think Jason D (admin) installed Jet-Hot lt's on his 02 Z28 and dynoed like 16hp gain peak.

that isn't to say there isn't more of a gain elsewhere in the curve, which is just as important as peak.

Unless you've got a decent lift cam and a nice set of heads, or some forced induction, etc, a larger throttle body is a waste of money.

Yup.

Not worth the $$$ without bigger mods.

just port out your stock one...most run stockers even into the 400+ hp range so i think the 300 can go to something else

I've got this tb, and I couldn't really tell that much of a difference until I put on my Cat-back exhaust. Then, with those two combined, it was a pretty big difference.
