Bassani Headers
Bassani Headers
I was wondering if anyone has experiance with the Bassani headers for the LS1. How load are they? Performance increases, etc. I am intending on getting the y with the high-flow cats and a SLP loudmouth cat back.
I have MAC headers, which are also mid lengths. I got them because the gains are supposed to be almost as good as long tubes but with better clearance and shorties are a waste. Bassani headers look like the same design as the MAC headers. On the stock SS cat back the MAC system (with cats) sounds slightly louder then before. It mainly changed the tone, sounds really good at around 2500 RPM.
i had the bassani off road Ypipe and the quality was top notch. fit was a bit off, but nothing horrible.
i think you'd be happy with the headers. they are very well known in the mustang circle

Yea I have a friend with a 5.0 with Bassani headers. Great qualitity.
Although, I wouldn't get the SLP Loudmouth with headers. The drone might drive you crazy. I recomend Magnaflow, which sounds great!

go there to see what you think of the loudmouth and headers.

i did R&D on those headers along with the y-pipe and hi-flow cats for them through www.vincihighperrformance.com they needed a car as close to stock as possible. all mine had at the time was a borla catback with the medium plate. this is the results of just the headers and y-pipe with cats. no tuning.
what the dyno doesn't show is under 3000 rpm driveability. in auto eqipeed ls1s, the motor doesn't start pulling very well until about 3200 rpm. the headers brought that 'pull' to about 2600 rpm.
install on headers
dyno results
and no there wasn't a loss of peak torque. there is a spike on the before run at the beginning of the run. look at the whole graph. a gain all the way across the board.
