Bad idle?

I just got in my car today leaving work and I started it. It started with like no power. It was straining to keep running it would idle like at 500rpm and a tad below but not stall. It made it home fine but still doing the same thing. Any ideas

Well my guess is that it could be your batteries not holdin as much juice as it use to or your alternator isnt runnin as strong as it use to be.... i'm just throwin out some idea's, did it still accelerate like it normaly does or did it feel like it was lacking power?

Yea, thats exactly what was happening to my 99.. It also causes the rpms to hang high when I'm in neutral.. and your idle my bounce around low and high when the computer compensates.. If there's an intake leak, you can probably hear an extra wooshing noise that changes when you step on teh gas under the hood.

If thats the case, I would bet its the EGR leaking.. that hose that leads to the front of your inatke manifold.. There's a rubber ring that seals it.. Sometimes it gets worn or stretch or what not, and it starts leaking, letting unmetered air it..

If thats the case, its like a $5 part from your dealership.. Be care when pulling the tube up, don't want to kink it, and don't want the old ring to fall inside your intake. Then when you tighten that one bolt down again, don't wench it down.. It doesn't require much tq, and you can easily crack your intake..
