in most cases m6s are 3-5 tenths faster stock depending on gearing.comparably modded a stalled a4 will be faster.

An automatic transmission that has had an aftermarket high stall torque convertor installed.

does that mean that my acceleration will be stalled, or will that car be faster overall, and how much will that cost?

A personal preference for sure. I would say that a m6 is better because you can choose your gears and that back rumble is certainly sweet. Many people also believe that if you have a sports car do not ruin it by buying an auto.

Now that is a very bold statement... Interesting... You might want to add that it also depends a whole lot on the driver, too.

What comes to the original question, it is purely matter of personal preference. You are the one making the decision and you need to figure out whether you want to work the stick all the time or whether you want to just put it in D and forget about it.

For a daily driver, like mine, I would never choose a manual transmission. If I had a weekend car, then it probably would be manual.

Good luck!

Mine is a daily driver and I love shifting through the gears. And to re-cap 6th gear - 70 mph - 30 MPG.

ill also add that even with a converter an m6 can have an advantage at certain speeds when racing from a roll.

Ahh but yet others might say don't ruin a sports cars name by buying a car with a back seat that weighs in at 3600+ lbs and call it a sports car. These are muscle cars IMO not "sports cars".

M6's make better daily drivers, auto-x and long distance traveling vehicles.

A4's are better drag racers and heavy rush hour traffic vehicles.

Don't let anyone tell you that an auto is a waste. If you want a Manual then by all means get one because they are a lot of fun, better gas mileage, slightly less HP loss, ect. But if you get an auto just put some gears and a nice torque converter in it and you can blow the tires off that thing from a dig.

True many M6's can beat you from a roll even with a torque converter but not from a dig. And the last time I checked the 1/8 & 1/4 mile tracks had some silly rule about all cars having to start the race from a complete stop.

Sorry if I sounded a little abbrasive but this debate gets real old and always has some M6 guys/girls insulting us autos like we don't deserve our cars.
