auto?
auto?
This might just be where I live, but finding a new or even used 02 SS or z28 6 spd is hard, actually next to impossible. I'm in the market buying one before the 31st but they're all autos almost. A friend asked me why I had to have a stick, I couldn't think of a good reason other then I just like the feel of driving one. I never go to the track and I don't plan on doing much mechanically to this car, I always spend more on appearance products then performance products, other then some basic items. So I guess driving an auto wouldn't matter. Any opinions, suggestions. As if it it were you, what woudl you do? I'm about to just give in and go with an auto.
Hold out for a stick. I love the stick shift. To me, I feel like I have more control of the car, and it is just fun to heel and toe downshift while running through the back roads. Something about the engine when you are hitting the upshifts and downshifts just right is magical. Every vehicle I have owned has been a stick. The only auto tranny in the family is the wifes car, but I am slowly converting her. If you like driving a stick, wait for a stick. An auto may be faster in a straight line but not as much fun. Many may disagree and say just get the auto, but is you enjoy drivng a manual, get the manual. You will regret it is you don't.
I like the auto but I agree with the the guy that posted above my.
Buy what you want or you will be sorry!
I do alot of city driving and work with my car and I need the free hand. If I want to drive stick I just hop in the Porsche.

When it comes to something like a car, I know that I wouldn't settle for anything less than what I wanted. Have a little patience, the M6 you're looking for will be available sooner or later, you just might have to wait a little while...but six months down the road (or whenever you get it), you'll be much, MUCH happier.
Interesting...
Now that I'm in the market for a used LS1, the majority I keep finding are M6's...
My other option is a 99+ GT but most of them seem to be autos, and we all know how much the AOD sucks, right?
I really prefer auto more, but what ever floats your boat. It kind of like the t-tops are for me: now that I don't have them, I really miss them and the next car must have them, or then be a convertible.
On a daily driver, especially if driving a lot of stop-and-go, the auto comes in handy. Not that there would be anything wrong with the stick, either. So, as you can see, I am a pretty much for both, I guess...
Just get what ever makes you happy. Take an auto for a long test drive and see how you feel after that. Who knows, you might change your mind.
Later!
