I'm not sure, but if you can get the VIN of the car and call SLP and ask if its one if their WS6 cars.

You could ask him if he's still got the window sticker or the build sheet.

Actually (duh) ... look at the RPO codes on the door sticker. It will say WS6

First off...why would someone switch? The cost to add the package from a regular T\A would be super costly....Hood 600...wheels and tires 1800....badging 50 bucks...suspension stuff...500 bucks...I know I am missing alot ...you could do more to the car with less money.... I don't get it...

A lot of people do the switch, and as far as I know, the only sure way to tell is to check the door codes for the WS6 option. I would imagine you could contact ASC (SLP hasn't done the WS6 since the LT1 years) and give them the VIN to see if they have a conversion date for it...

Good luck,
Shane

Thats not entirely true. Go price a REAL ASC WS6 hood. nowhere near 600.00 . at one time they were near 1700.00.. if you buy the correct pieces from gm then you pay more than the option was.

First things first.

Check his door for the WS6 option code. See if he still has his window sticker. I still have mine, showing my vin # with the ws6 option listed on the sticker.

I think you said this guy has a 98 Navy Blue WS6 TA. To give you an idea how rare this is, there was only 1 98 Navy blue WS6 Formula and Paul Morris in Toronto has it

I think less than 20 of TA made it out with Blue paint and the WS6 package.

Also, what exhaust is on his car?

All 98 WS6's had a single drivers side outlet exhaust. Many guys i know put on 99+ exhausts on their 99 trying to make a ws6 and didnt realize that the 98's had different setups. I have ran into two guys claiming to have 98's, who bought their cars used and someone either had made it look like one or they made it look like one and not knowing the difference's they were busted

Worse come to worse, get his VIN and give it to me. Ill find out if its real.

hope this helps.

Still more then the package... People really spend the money to do that? 3000 for the package... I got my heads and cam and stuff done for that.... Good lord people need a Role model....
