And it has been since I bought the car with 37k miles. Is there some trick where it may have been wired so the button wouldn't have to be pressed each time so that the car would turn off ASR? Pushing the button does nothing to turn the ASR back on.

Not that I really need ASR, but I wouldnt mind having the light off for daily driving. Any suggestions?

 

You have a bad switch.

 

they sell a module to override asr. you may have that or bug in tune. after mail order tune, my asr light would come on and off as it pleased. switch wouldnt override it.

 

Well I can try a new switch first. Does anyone have any idea what the override chip would look like or where it would be? Id like to have the light off

Mine was on all the time, but the switch worked fine. The bulb finally burned out.
