ASP Underdrive pulley install

who has done this? I got the big pulley out, and I also got an underdrive pulley for my alternator. Do I need this pulley on my alternator? I removed alternator from car, and I can't figure out how to remove bolt form alternator to swap pully or wheel or whatever you want to call it. Anyone have any tips? Anyone know of a writeup? Please help thank you.

Re: ASP Underdrive pulley install

are there any notches I need to line up, or can I just put it on and it will work?

The new crank pulley goes on any way (no keyway)
You will need to use an impact gun on the alt pulley.

i've always heard to use the impact wrench while the alt is still on the car and the belt is on to provide resistence. the breaker bar would work if you had a way to hold the alt from spinning.

good luck

Re: ASP Underdrive pulley install

I bought the campbell housefeld impact gun from wal mart, and it doesn't have enough torque to even pull the lugnuts off my tires, so I have to take the gun back and see if they'll exchange it. That's out of the question.

Re: ASP Underdrive pulley install

just take the alt to any shop and have them use their impact wrench to swap out the pullys.
