anyone know the weight of the hatch for a camaro

Im working on a project using an actuator to open the hatch and need to know the weight. If anyone has any pics of this done before I would appreciate it.

Thumbs up

Brent's (Brent94Z, mod in LT1 Tech) has a bunch of weights listed on his page. Not sure whether the hatch is listed there, but you might want to check it out anyway.

Later!

try making a similar post in the apperance section. If i recall correctly someone else wanted to do the same thing. Even if someone who has tried it doesnt respond, I sure someone who has added a t/a hatch to a 6 cyl or formula would know the wieght of the hatch from shipping costs.

Hope that helps

I'd guess over 150 lbs- i've had mine off, and it was a struggle for 2 people (had to reach away from your body).

I'd leave the factory shocks there, and add an actuator. It could to it with only 15lbs capacity.

Yeah thats a large peice of glass in there, and thats also a damn good idea, with the factory lifter struts you would bearly need any force behind the actuator.
