Post Anyone know how to reset gauges once you remove the needles?

I put a set of indiglo gauges on my car and need to know how to get the gauges to read correctly. I removed the needles to put these on and now my gauges will not read correctly. Any help would be great.

That's a tough one once you pulled them off prior to marking where they were beforehand. However, all is not lost. If you have an atap or access to one, then there's a way to reconnect your speedo and odo. The odo you can do with the car sitting still. Just put it in neutral and apply gas..when the the atap reads a number like 2000rpms then put the needle there. The speedo is harder and can be more dangerous since you'll have to do it while driving. I don't recommend it..however many do it and do it with a friend in the passenger seat to read off the speed. Good luck

Try disconnecting the battery and then reconnecting. This should reset the gauges.

Just trying to clarify here... you're talking about using an atap to get the proper RPM's to set the odo? Don't you mean the tach?

What I did when I added White faced guages was first take a digial picture of my guages before I pulled off the needles. I then put the needles back on according to my picture.

I also used a scan tool to verify my needles were in the right position.
