Anyone have problems with pulleys??

Hey all.. I am thinking about my next performance mod and debating on pulleys. I had them on my v6 camaro though and they caused major problems. Ruined 2 windows motors, and 1 alternator, and yes I have the underdrive AND the alt pulley. Just curious if anyone on here who has them has had any problems. Thanks all

I just have the crank pulley and it hasn't caused any problems (knocks on wood).

Thumbs up

The U/D pulley did not cause your window motors to go out, that was probably caused by use. The alt maybe (still a stretch), but it was also due to use. The U/D pulleys are rumored to kill batteries though (not enough charging at idle). I have never had a problem with U/D pullies. I had the crank pulley on my LT1 M6, and other cars. I plan to run one in my SS.

I have an asp underdrive pully on my car, no problems as of yet. The car did drop 4 tenths when I added a lid, ported maf ends and the pully so obviously it adds some power. It's a great mod in my opinion.

I have just the crank pulley (since I have an A4). No problems with the current ASP pulley, though the SLP unit I used to have was terrible. It slipped at high rpm a lot, resulting in a large hp loss. I like the ASP.

In actuality, it should prolong the life of your accessories, not wear them out faster.
