Anyone ever have a problem with Borla??
My girlfriend just got her Borla exhaust system a couple days ago so we set out to install the damn thing. First off, we had to hacksaw the stock exhaust to get it over the axle. Very poorly designed by GM. I can't believe it was one pipe but that's not the problem. We Get have the exhaust bolted up and come to where the muffler attaches to the Y pipe section. You know, the part that goes to muffler, goes to one tip and runs back to the stock Y-pipe. It's not even a circle. It does not go into the exhaust inlet. It looks all warped like they screwed it up while making it. Wouldn't they test their parts or something? Anyone else ever had a problem like this?? We are gonna look at our emission laws here in good ol' VA too see if we can run a muffler straight off the stock Y-pipe. This is the 2nd time we had to send an exhaust system back. Are there any disadvantages to running a muffler directly off the Y-pipe other than clearance problems??
Borlas are strange like that. I have heard of people who have bolted theirs right on with no incident, and i have heard nightmares about borla installs. I guy around here with a Borla on his T/A said he first tried to install it and had a similar problem, and when he was done the tips where sagging and crooked. He said your better off just letting an exhaust shop hang it so its straight and properly strung. Besides if you shelled out the cash for borlas T-304 stainless then whats a few extra bucks to get it installed.
