another pushrod thread

I get the feeling that a few of my rods might not be as straight as they once were. Even if they're not bent yet, I don't trust the stock ones with all the incidents I've heard about. So, I ordered a set of Comp Cams Hi-Tech One-Piece Chromemoly pushrods from Thunder Racing (since they were running a special). Anyone here done any work on their valvetrain??? How easy is it gonna be to swap these out? I've found a couple how to's that make it seem fairly simple, but I've learned not to trust them when it comes to their version of "easy."

Oh, and is there anything else I'm gonna need (like gaskets)???

no gaskets needed. its time consuming and hurts your back leaning over the hood for so long but its not that hard.... time for me to do em.... AGAIN

What's the chance of bending a pushrod on a stock engine with an a4? They're more at risk with an m6 with a missed shift correct?

The hardest part of changing them would be (I woud think anyway) pulling off the coil packs and valve covers.

^^ Yea what are the odds of bending some with an automatic?? Is it possible that just redline is enough to bend them without even knowing it?? Or do you have to significantly over-rev by an accidental downshift or something to bend them??
