Talking Another cam swap Q&A

We're putting a Comp XE281R into a buddy's '01 Camaro and need to know a couple of things since I haven't installed an LS1 cam before.

1. Do we need to get different length pushrods or will the lifters adjust for the smaller base lobe?

2. Will the stock lifters work fine for a .595/.598 lift cam?

Thanks!

I just finished putting in a Comp 224R (224/.581/112) cam. I read that there was enough adjustment in the lifters that I wouldn't need longer pushrods. My base circle was about .060 less than stock (.030" on the radius), so I opted to get the TSP 7.400 pushrods that were around .020 longer than stock. I'm glad I did because I have very little rocker noise.

I also kept the stock lifters at .581" lift. I've also read where the stock lifters are fine.

Thanks,
Glenn

stock lifters and the same length rods will be fine. Id reccomend hardened ones though....
