Am I blind or what??? Where are all the SS's at?

Let start of by saying, nice forums. Ive learned alot here from the few days that Ive been browsing. My question is.....I want a M6 SS around the 99-00 seeing thats about all I can afford but I cant find anything. Ton of Z-28's and I know you dont see a SS everyday but sheesh, not to find one on "autotrader.com" is worrying me. I mean, are they that hard to come by? Any suggestions to where I can find one would be greatly appreciate it.

Theres a local A4 SS being sold at a dealership in my area and Im having thoughts of snatching the SS before someone else does but me not having the M6 tranny would eventually tear a hole in my heart as I really want a manual. Ive read a TON of M6 vs A4 threads but Im unable to change heart. I have to be one with the car and a M6 is the only way for me.

There's going to be people that'll tell you to buy the auto, but don't settle for something you don't want, you'll kick yourself. I wanted a T-top Formula with the six-speed and cloth seats. It took me a year and a half to find one, but I eventually did.

Go to some local Chevy dealerships and have them try and locate a car for you. Buy some local autotrader magazines from a gas station or food store, they cost a buck or so. Keep looking, you'll find the right one.

Honestly, In my area, I see more SS's than Z28's. I am not sure about the transmissions though. Before I bought the hawk and was looking for a car I checked out LS1 camaros first. The majority of the V8 camaros in my region were SS's. I guess it varies on the demographic.

In 2000 the SS and Z28 sold almost one for one. In 99, about 28% of the LS1 cars were SS'es. You should have no trouble locating one.

2000 8913 SS's out of 20,406 LS1 cars.

1999 4829 out of 17393 LS1 cars

Words of wisdom! If you want an M6, stick with your decision. I wanted an M6 and waited until I found one.

Try carmax. They'll deliver a car from one state to another if you want them too. And definately get the M6 if you are set on it. You'll only be happy in an A4 if you are SERIOUS about racing it at a drag strip. Don't get that A4 if you really want an M6.

Good Luck

Same thing here. My dad has a black 01 SS which he never ever drives. Other than that there is only 2 other SS I have ever seen on the road and not at a car show. Also all the ones for sale around here have over 50k and are way over priced.

96-97 SS are damn near extinct here. Only one around here. a black 96 6-spd.

And the strange thing is I see about 3-4 ws6 a day.

Well, you can get a z28 now and make it look like an SS if you can't find an SS around.

I bought a z28 by mistake! I didn't even think to get an SS until after I had already bought my z28 and parked it in my driveway.

I personally like the look of 18's instead of 17's anyway.

Look at what I did with my z
You couldnt tell the difference unless I had told you about it already.
