For all you boys with stalls

I have a 99 SS A4 camaro to give you a little background of my car here are some of the mods.
Jet hot LT's, Custom 3inch Y-pipe, Borla Catback adjustable, 3:42 gears, eaton differential, 3600 Vigalante, LID, Granatelli MAF, Ported MTI TB, hypertech power programming, Free mods, Fast Toys ram air, Slp Temp mod.
The question is I had a 2800 Vigalante before, but it just didn;t do it for me anymore. So vigalante stalled it to a 3600. When my transmission shifts my RPM's only drop to 5000 and slowly the needle rises to 6000 RPM, and does it all over again.
IS THIS NOMRAL OR what.
I can also stall my falken tires to 2100 RPM before wheel spin.
when I pull out in traffic just to get my car rolling to a decent roll my tach goes to 3000 RPM.
Is this normal too.
Someone told me that I should get a better programmer like send my PCM off to MTI, they said they can take out Torque management b/c my computer might think that my transmission my be slipping b/c of my stall costing me some Torque????

PLEASE HELP

The Vig3600 actually stalls at about 4000-4200. That is why you have all the looseness your describing. You can get a good tune (preditor, ls1 edit or pay a performance shop) and that will help. You can also buy a shift kit and that will help tighten up the shifts. Without shift points adjusted and TM deleted I can imagine your bouncing the rev limiter quite a bit.

I think you just went too high. A vig3200 stalls at 3600 so that might have been better for a street driven car with stock internals. Get the shift kit and use D instead of OD for around town driving. Bottom line is you'll just have to get used to a looser converter or yank it out for a lesser stall (3500). If you plan to get heads/cam work done in the future then that converter will end up rocking your world at the track. If you plan to stay stock inside the motor then I hate to say it but I would consider selling the vig and getting a TCI ssf 3500 stall converter for around 500 bucks.

By the way this belongs in the drivetrain section. Maybe a mod can move the thread for you.

Good luck and I hope it all turns out well for you.
